The One You Love

Heartache, heartbreak. This is the time where I am supposed to be filled with encouraging words and uplifting thoughts...but as of now, I am at a loss for words that are supposed to make someone else find solace. Relationships are never easy, especially when you finally decide to put your heart on your sleeve and it gets kicked off. I am supposed to be sad, I am supposed to feel something, but in all honesty, I just keep thinking "i hate dating." Talking with Sandy a few weeks ago, I came to a few conclusions. I am a strong woman, or at least I like to think so. I don't have a lot to hide. I believe in being true to myself and will never compromise what I believe and who I am. So my new resolution is date non-perishable people. Milk (a perishable item) goes bad pretty quickly...its pretty tough to hide who you are for an extended period of time...it takes about 3 months for peoples' true selves to really shine. Non-perishable people don't break down in 3 months.
So in writing all of this...I am finding my words of wisdom. Stay true to yourself...right from the beginning when in a relationship. You don't have to lay all of your cards out on the table right away, but be sure the ones you do put down are real and heartfelt. Never lie...it really only complicates things. When doing anything that you feel might be bad...think about how you would feel in the light of day...its easier to be wreckless at night.

Being who you are should never be hard.
